උළුගල රජමහා විහාරය - වැලිමඩ

ඉහළ ඌව පළාත ඉතිහාසයෙන් හා සංස්කෘතියෙන් සපිරි ස්ථානයක් ලෙස හැඳින්විය හැකිය. සිතාවක රාජධානිය සිට අද දක්වා දිවෙන ඉතිහාසයකට හිමිකම් කියන ඌව පළාතේ ප්‍රමුඛතම විහාරස්ථානයක් ලෙස උළුගල රජමහා විහාරය හැඳින්විය හැක.

පිහිටුම සහ ප්‍රවේශය

මෙම විහාරස්ථානය වැලිමඩ නගරයෙන් 10km පමණ දුරින්, උඩපේරැව-ඉඹුල්ගස්හින්න මාර්ගයේ, උළුගල ගම්මානයේ පිහිටා ඇත. සංචාරයකට පැමිණෙන පුද්ගලයින්ට පහසු මාර්ග මෙම ස්ථානයට ලබාගත හැක.

Upper Uva Province can be described as a place rich in history and culture. Ulugala Rajamaha Viharaya can be described as one of the leading temples in Uva Province, which has a history dating back to the Sitawaka Kingdom to the present day.

Location and Access.

This temple is located in Ulugala village, about 10km from Welimada town, on the Udaperawa-Imbulgashinna road. Visitors can access this place .

History and Security.

The Ulugala Rajamaha Viharaya has already been protected under the Department of Archaeology of Sri Lanka. This is one of the oldest temples in Sri Lanka and should be considered as our cultural heritage.
